01.12.2017 - HOUSING IN ŠABAC PRESENTED ON THE SECOND INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF Contemporary HOUSING IN NIŠ

H icoSocial housing in Šabac, built by architectural design of the architects of Housing Center, presented on the second International Exibition of Contemporary Housing in Niš among 60 exhibited works.

Review: The building of social housing in protected conditions in Šabac is good example of a one-sided building of longituding form which is conditioned by the shape of the plot and follows it. The building consists of 36 apartments grouped into five functionally and formally clearly differentiated lamellas. In this way, the object with its form but also with the number of floors, morphologicaly follows its environment, which is mainly a family housing, although it is typologically different from it. All apartments, as well as the largest number of residental premises, have a good orientation, dominantly south. The functional essembly is resolved in a very high quality manner.

Such a concept represent a very good example of the transition from family to multi-family housing , whereby the quality of family housing is largely contributed by properly dimensioned open areas , including small private courtyards on the ground floor. The ground floor apartments are protected by public areas and have the necessary level of privacy.

The aspect of socialization of tenants is especially emphasized by the formation of common spaces on each floor. Additional methodological quality in the design process itself is the inclusion of future beneficiaries , through the organization of workshops. In this way they were given the opportunity to influence the functional concept and adopt it to their needs.
