28.4.2016 - HOUSING CENTAR ON 39 SALON OF ARCHITECTURE

Salon icoOne of the projects developed by Housing Center architects in 2016 was presented at 39th Salon of Architecture which took place in Belgrade from 29 March to 30 April 2017, under the working title “in the Reality!!” – the design of the apartment building for social housing in supportive environment in Sabac. The newly built building with 36 apartments is intended for accommodation of most vulnerable refugee, internally displaced and returnee households, accommodated in the collective center Varna in Šabac.

07.03.2017 – STUDY VISIT IN ALBANIA WITHIN THE PROJECT „SPREADING COMMUNITY LIFE MODEL” (ERASMUS+)

Alb icoDuring the period from 27 February to 3 March 2017 in Shkodra, Albania was organized the second meeting of partner organizations on the project “Spreading community life model". The project is financed by the EU funds, ERASMUS +. During stay in Shkodra and its surroundings, host organization Malteser Albania, within the study visit showed to all participants numerous examples of good practices of life in the community and work with socially disadvantaged and excluded people.

27.02.2017 - ACCOMMODATION AND SAFETY CONDITIONS IN THE RECEPTION CENTER FOR MIGRANTS IN BUJANOVAC IMPROVED

Og icoHousing Center continues to improve the accommodation conditions in the temporary centers for migrants and refugees from Syria and the Middle East - on Monday, 27.02.2017 were completed the repair works on the roof and the construction and rehabilitation of the fence around the detention center for migrants in Bujanovac. The total of 234 m of the fence is constructed or rehabilitated and painted and over 3.5 tons of steel pipes have been used for these purposes.

23.02.2017 - CONSTRUCTION OF TWO PAVILIONS IN RECEPTION CENTER FOR MIGRANTS IN SOMBOR COMPLETED

PTCSom icoHousing Center continues to support the provision of adequate shelter conditions for refugees and migrants from Syria and Middle East. Construction of two pavilions (dining room and multipurpose facility) in the Reception center for migrants in Sombor has just been completed. The construction works and equipping of these facilities are financed by the European Community Humanitarian Office (ECHO) within the project “Enhancing Protection and Humanitarian Aid in fYRoM and Serbia” implemented by Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and Housing Center.

03.02.2017 - HOUSING CENTER PRESENTED TO THE RESIDENTS OF THE NEW SETTLEMENT BOGOJEVO THE PROPOSED LOCATIONS FOR RESETTLEMENT

BogojevoIn accordance with the adopted Strategy on sustainable housing solutions for residents of the substandard New Settlement Bogojevo, Housing Center, representing the Coordinating Body of the municipality Odžaci, presented to the residents of the New Settlement Bogojevo the proposed locations for resettlement. The presentation was held in the hall of Local office in Bogojevo, in front of the twenty representatives of the families.

02.02.2017 - Housing Center at the international seminar on Sustainable Housing and Urban Development

Sem icoHousing Center participated in the international seminar on Sustainable Housing and Urban Development which is realized within three years of the Project: Strengthening national capacity for Sustainable Housing, Urban Development and Land Management for countries in transition, which was held from 31st of January until 2nd of February 2017 in Belgrade. This international seminar was jointly organized by the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Human Settlements

19.12.2016 – Study visit in Italy within the project „SPREADING COMMUNITY LIFE MODEL” (ERASMUS+)

Erasmus icoIn the period from 11-15 December 2016 in the city of Brindisi in Italy is organized the first meeting of partner organizations cooperating on the project "Spreading community life model" financed by the EU funds, ERASMUS+. During the stay in Italy, the participants had the opportunity to meet each other and share their experiences on the topics covered by the project.

14.10.2016 – Officially opened temporary center for migrants in Bujanovac

Bujan icoOn 14 October 2016. the newly formed temporary reception center for migrants in Bujanovac was officially opened. The overall building reconstruction and its transformation into reception center was financed by the European Union and implemented by the Housing Center. The total value of performed works and delivered equipment is 340.000 Euro. Center was inaugurated by Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, Minister for work, employment and social policy of the Republic of Serbia and Mr. Nicolas Bizel, Head of Section at the EU Delegation in Serbia.

03.10.2016 - HOUSING CENTER AT THE CONFERENCE “HOUSING FOR ALL” IN TIRANA, ALBANIA

Tir icoHousing Center representatives Branislava Zarkovic and Stanislava Filipovic participated on one-day meeting of experts on housing policy and practice, organized by the National Housing Agency of Albania and Housing Europe – European Federation of Public, Cooperative and Social Housing. 01.10.2016 – HOUSING CENTER PARTNER ON ERASMUS+ PROJECT

EUHousing Center is one of the partners on recently approved project “Spreading Community Life Model” financed within the ERASMUS+ Programme of the European Union. The project started in October 2016 and will run for 2 years, until the end of September 2018. The project deals with the exchange of good practices in the field of community life and housing for people at risk of social exclusion.

02.9.2016 - Collective Center Varna in Šabac will be closed soon

Šabac, 02 September 2016 – By means of construction of 17 pre-fabricated houses and 36 social apartments in protected environment the conditions are met for the final closure of the Collective Center Varna in Šabac. The Collective Center in the settlement Varna is one of the oldest and largest collective centers in Serbia. It has been established in 1993 and accommodates refugees, internally displaced persons and returnees through readmission agreements continuously since then.
